CodecInstaller - Audio Codec Detect:

You don’t know what codecs you need for playing movies or listening audio on your computer? Here it’s a nice and very useful windows software for free, witch is programmed to analyzes files on your system to see what codecs needs and suggests to install or download the ones necessary to view correctly.
If you have a movie that not work properly  simply click on “Analyze File” on the CodecInstaller  menu, then when a new window appear select the right  file for analyze. The process of analyzing is very short, the program will show the codec needed for play the video correctly.
For advanced users “Filter mapping editor” give you complete control over filter priority or what formats it will decode. Another good feature is the “remove filter” you can unregister a filter which will be removed from your system.
Audio Codec Detect has many features and is capable to analyze files like: AVI, MPEG, WMV, WMA, OGG, FLAC, MPC, MP3, MP4, WAV, and WX, the program will tell you the technical data such as: ratio, length, video codec, frame rate, size, bit rate, width, height, total frames.
The configuration of the Audio Codec Detect is very easy to do; you have the possibility to set your language: English, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Polish, Portuguese (Brazilian), Spanish, Swedish, Russian and Turkish, of course if your language is not available, the only option  is English.

The Good
Audio codec detect is very useful to see why a video don’t play and help you to finding or/and downloading the right codec for your file. The program is very easy to handle, for each codec you receive a short description and a download link.
Has the possibility to detect fake files.

Audio codec detect could be more detailed regard Avi file.

Libraries: Microsoft .NET Framework 2 or higher is required in order to use CodecInstaller. It is freely downloadable from microsoft.com site.
